Travel warning BAHAMAS

Is it not better if Cruise Lines stop at smaller - may be private - Bahamian islands? Travelers have to be careful in the Bahamas due to high crime and murder rate in this little island nation with 300 000 inhabitans only.

After a travel warning issued by the US Department of State a few weeks ago and several armed robberies of spring breakers in the area off West Bay Street in Nassau, police issued a stern warning to persons engaged in any illegal activities in the area.

The police was able to make some arrests in that area between Nassau downtown and Cable Beach for firearms and drugs, and was able to go back in that area where they took a high-powered weapon, Bahamas Consult confirmed in a press release.
