i was in margarita for christmas. they have opened a new bar. it is affiliated with sodoma in mercedes district of caracas. It's varously called "Me Llamo" or "Shadow". It's right across the street from "Calle de Hambre". Not much happening except for Saturday nights. Hopefully the owners have deep pockets because Margarita is no Costa Rica. South Beach discos is history. Mosquito Coast is pretty straight, but a new disco called "Eye" is hot and people are open minded. It's also possible to meet people at Playa El Agua on weekends and holidays.

I actually preferred Puerto La Cruz to Margarita for night life. It's a short ferry ride to the mainland and you pass thru islands comprising the beautiful Mochima National Park along the way.
